In 2004 Polina began studying audiovisual production at the Moscow University of Arts and Culture, where she has focused on documentary filmmaking and photography. In 2010, she moved to the Czech Republic and began studying at the Film Academy of Miroslav Ondříček in Písek, initially as a Documentary major. After her first year she switched to Animation. During her studies, she focused on both cartoon and 2D animation, as well as multi-plane animation. She also worked as a graphic designer and draftsman. She graduated her Bachelor’s degree with her short film Toro!, which is based on the line drawings of Pablo Picasso and illustrates bullfights. As an animator, she worked on several films where she applied her experience using multi-planes – Across the Border (dir. Florence Miailhe, oil painting, 2021) or Kafka. In Love (dir. Zane Oborenko, sand animation, 2024). Her student film Weeds had its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
